    Well, the father had gray/lighter skin and the mother was a black skinned silkie. I'm still learning about chicken genetics so I am unsure exactly what sex link is or how it works really.

    Hey, BYC friends! How many of you out there dabble in crossbreeding? My wife and I have been working a Polish X Silkie (polkie) project for awhile and have been getting some interesting results so I just wanted to share a recent juvenile we really like.

    So my wife and I tried to incubate maybe a dozen blue eggs from one if our EE hens that was mating with a silkie roo and we finally scored a fertile egg! Say hello to Hapa, our first hybrid chick. It seems to have some silver and gold coloration going on. I can't wait to see how it develops! <3

    Well, I am trying to produce a silkie feathered bird that has a body mass and Crest larger than a normal silkie bantam. I also want to produce more variety in color and pattern. I would also like to maintain the feathered feet but no preference on beards.
