    Breda Fowl thread

Yes they (Cuckoo) are a larger bird with longer vulture hocks, better comb, feet feathers and top line. They do often have faulty egg color though.

Yes the cuckoo often had a dark cream egg and they were larger birds than the blues or the mottled. Mottled have a nice white egg. I do like the topline better in my cuckoo, otherwise they were not much different than my mottled. The most markedly "altered" were the Blues with too many faults...

I would not know how to begin that project! How do you find another breed that will not ruin the lack of comb, big nostrils, vulture hocks, hard feather feet, upright stance, white eggs etc? There is not another breed like them that I know of. Too much to hide/fix...it can be seen already in...

    Blue Laced Red Wyandotte THREAD!

True I suppose but then I would only be diversifying with half the genes instead of all. I will probably do both. I have SLW eggs enroute now.

    The Silver Laced Wyandotte Thread

Anyone have a nice Silver Laced cockerel available? Needs to have been Mareks vaccinated and be NPIP. Eggs and straight run also an option, but I really only need the rooster. Thank You, Rare Feathers Ranch

    Blue Laced Red Wyandotte THREAD!

We had way too many in 2015, so I decided to just concentrate on three. We sold off everything except the Mottled Breda, the Basque Hen and the project Blue Laced Silvers. I keep a small group of Blue Laced Reds in splash going as well to add fresh genes back into my BLS group as needed. We are...

    Blue Laced Red Wyandotte THREAD!

My Blue Laced Silver project are from the breeding formula I was given from breeders of the color in England. We are on generation five now. Formula: 1: Silver Laced rooster bred to splash Blue Laced Red hens ( I used mostly Union Hill lines and Foley splash BLRW hens). 2: Take resulting...

I have several dozen Mottled Breda eggs in the incubators getting ready to hatch in a week or so. If anyone is interested in reserving some, please PM me before I list them. Mareks vaccine included. I ship at 2 weeks old+ as Breda can be fragile early on. All will look like this cute little t-rex

Are they from Dutch Connection? I got my first Cuckoos and Mottleds from her as well. I'm getting better at sexing them after so many but it is really hard until they start to feather out. The roos most often have a much more upright stance, and their waddles are much more red even early, but I...

These are full mottled.....Have raised a few hundred now. The dots on the head as new chicks always means full mottled. The other one you posted will be a split. They either go all black or black with some white ticking. See my post for pics or PM me pics and I will id them for you :)

The ones with the dots on their heads will always be full mottled in Breda (first chick). The next chick down(split) will grow to be all black or mostly black with some white feathers grown...
