Welcome to the RHAJ coop
I became a chicken mama on Mother's Day 2010 (5/9/10). I got 3 Red Sex Links and 3 Rhode Island Reds. We decided to transform an old outbuilding we had into a home for our chickens. After looking at lots of photos of chicken coops, we got the inspiration...
I just googled brooklyn ct chickens to try to get a different link, thinking maybe a different newspaper had better info...
I got a bunch of links for the KFC.. Kentucky Fried Chicken! lol
So then I looked directly at some news stations sites and other papers sites... nada. I bet there will be...
It's not "OT", but I couldn't find a good place to put this...
This is in the news this morning in my very small town. I am sad they euthanized them all.

question... could it be something you can't catch from another chicken?? If so, could that be a hint as to what it is?? She has been inside (alone) since the attack... before that, was with my others, but nobody else has this.
While I was cleaning her eyes, I noticed the edge was red. Mean anything?
Her eye wasn't stuck closed this morning like it was yesterday, hopefully that is progress??
ok to recap, my hen got attacked by the rest of my flock, she got pretty bloodied but is healing well.
While healing, her eyes started to get wet. Today they are worse. Her left eye was stuck shut and her right eye was pretty foamy. I cleaned it off but I'm thinking I probably need to treat...
I can make a saline mixture for the eyes by boiling water and adding some baking soda. Would that be ok? (of course you cool it before using)
I'll look it up to be sure but I'm thinking it's 1 tsp of baking soda to 2c of water.
I thought maybe she looked sleepy at times, but I could be...
