What did you do in the garden today?

Actually my Medicare, supplemental, and drug cost will total just a tad over $400.00/ month for ‘26. Advantage plans could probably be had for $0.00 monthly premium or near that but jumping through hoops is not an activity I’m interested in. This is one reason all the open enrollment Medicare...

What did you do in the garden today?

Not having any health issues at 67 and only seeing the doctor for yearly checkups it would be cost effective for me to have a Medicare Advantage plan. However, Going with standard Medicare, supplemental G, and a drug plan cuts out all the if’s and and’s of who pays what and when. Costs me more...

What did you do in the garden today?

Yeah, at some point self-insuring seems like a plausible approach but unless you’re really wealthy one unexpected health incident can ruin you.

That’s an excellent question. What is that? About 2,400.00 US?

I see your point. However, I see the cost of insurance the price of access and once you access the system you become, in a sense, a product.

If you are not paying, or paying very little, for your healthcare you become the product being sold.

What did you do in the garden today?

Yeah, this broad stroke nonsense of everyone at a certain age, body type, activity level, etc. doing and taking the same things 'just because' is ludicrous in my view. Take the BMI as an example of one metric that pigeonholes everyone because of the 'median'. As for medical research the end...

    Dual coops

Actually not concerned about the extra work, it gives me an excuse to be out with them more. We see our flock as pets with benefits so we like to interact with them. Regarding the pop door, we have an automatic door on the main coop which I end of closing manually in the evening (I’m anal about...

We are definitely on the same page. Same page, same paragraph, same sentence, same word.

    Dual coops

Thank You. I just needed to hear from someone that actually had this set up to confirm my thoughts.

I tend to see my doctor, which I rarely visit anyway, as an advisor not as a director.

    Dual coops

Just curious, does anyone see any downside or issues with having two coops accessible to the flock? We have our original coop(about 18 sq.ft.) which we blocked off so the flock would learn to go to the new 120 sq.ft. coop, which they have. Both coops enter into the same fenced in area. I’ve been...

We are, in the end, just a revenue stream for them.
