Thank you. They are officially all laying now. I took this picture before the 6th hen laid, but she followed up about an hour later. 2 days in a row that we got 6 eggs. We got our first egg on Nov 16th and it's slowly increased in # of eggs each day. We are tapped out @ 6 a day now

Thank you! That Boston Terrier is named Rizzo (from Grease). She fits the name VERY well....but she gets along with the hens just fine.
BTW, we got our first egg on Tuesday. In 5 days we have 6 eggs so far. It's still early yet, but we may get another one today

The family is having fun with these girls (supposedly all hens....haha...maybe). As I stated in my introduction thread, the source of the chicks is a friend of mine and is willing to swap any out that may be roosters.
I was raised with many farm animals, but my wife nor my kids have been...
If the heart of the doors are still good, you could re-cover the inside with some thin plywood and paint it for weather protection. Regarding the gap at the bottom, I would dig the dirt out and set some flat stones like pavers and you can bring them up to narrow the doors gap at the bottom...

I like martinjj recommendation! Can you post pictures of the doors so we can maybe think of solutions? The chicken run you have is very nice I think!
