Hen putting straw on her back...whats up with that?

I recently noticed one of my red sex links taking a straw and putting it on her back. Of course the straw wouldnt stay there and she would turn her head and pick up another one and lay it back there. Any one ever see this before and what is the reason for it?

Anyone had else had their Wal Mart downsized?

Why do I shop at Wal-Mart? To use a quote Ive heard before.....Its the economy stupid! I get so sick of these small towns begging everyone to shop locally at Christmas when their prices are so outrageous. And to the poster who said he or she wouldnt be sad to see all Wal-Marts disappear, imagine...

how in the heck are we supposed to live these days

Most of these posts deal with commuting to work. Well let me inform you good people of something. When gas goes to 7 bucks a gallon and higher, there wont be any "work"to go to. Companies and businesses will start going belly up and then we can pedal our bikes around our little homesteads. I...

When you take them outside, do you have a cage you put them in? is the cage bottomless? if it has a bottom say like chicken wire, do they try to eat grass and bugs through the wire? and how long do you let them out? if they...

    Anyone else TV-free?

Its not the tv, its the stuff ON tv. I personally like tv when its a classic tv show or an old movie. The new stuff on these days is not fit to watch except in rare cases. After a day of working at the factory, I like to relax in front of the tv and watch something good. I certainly dont want to...

Need some ideas on how to start working a graveyard shift please...

    Bully chick

I have 8 chicks that were hatched 5 days ago and one of them constantly pecks on all the others. Every time she gets around another chick, she starts pecking them. Is she a bully or just establishing the pecking order already?

What kind of chick do I have?

I just purchased 8 little fuzz balls from our local Ag-center and the man said that they were Golden Reds. They are supposed to lay brown eggs. They are a gold color with a pair of darker brown stripes on their backs. So what is a Golden Red?

Will this work for a dusting box?

My wife does a lot of transplanting plants into pots and she usually has a lot of potting soil around. Can I use this mixed with Sevin dust for dusting material? And if that wont work, what about this bagged topsoil you can buy? Will that work also?. Thanks in advance for the info.
