Just got my first pair of Marans two weeks ago. They are about four weeks old now and are Golden Duckwing in color. I can't wait until they get old enough to breed. I understand that the Golden Duckwing doesn't breed true, is that correct?
I am near DuBois PA. It is on I-80 100 miles north of Pittsburgh. Unfortunately the othe end of the state, but I would be interested in some fertile eggs sometime.
The best feed depends on what age your birds are, size, breed, and so on. Ask 100 people and probably get many different answers. Some prefer pellets some crumbles and some just scratch grains. There are many brands out there. We feed purina layena.
I lost my last two wyndottes and am looking to find some more. We would like Columbians, Silverlaced, and Bluelaced red wyndottes. Are there any breeders in or near PA that carry them?
Saw him on Brahmalot. I would check local ordinances and see if you are allowed to dispose of him. In PA we can dispose of wildlife killing our flocks.
I am by no means a new member but I have just started posting recently. I am from Pennsylvania and have about 40 or so chickens. Until recently they were mostly wyndottes but I lost my last two to a fox recently. I have some leghorns some RIR and some Golden Duckwing marans.
