    What wattage heat lamp?

    I was wondering what wattage heat lamp I Would need for my chicks that will be in their brooder box for 5 weeks. the climate that I live in gets down to 30F (0C) at nighttime and that will get up to 70F (20C) in the daytime. Help would be appreciated.

    Thanks for the help because my set up was a 150w heat lamp at one end and a 50w heat lamp at the other end Could you still keep the blanket on but leave the two ends where the heat lamp is uncovered so there is ventilation and the rug isn't near the heat lamp therefore it might not be a fire...

    Since I live in Australia I am buying it of a person in queens land the buyer comes from a pet shop called all pet homes they also sell a lot of there other items on eBay and there doesn't seem to be any complaints so I think it will be alright

    It depends on the brand if you want you can buy the starter grower (i have never seen it but i suppose it exists). Or you can buy the starter for 0-8 weeks and the grower for 8-18 weeks by the time they are this old they will just eat what all your other hens eat wheat

    Hi I want to purchase a heat lamp off eBay. But is there any risks? Could it be a dud and work for a couple of days then break? Could it be fake like a toy? Or could it be a fire hazard? Any replys I would be much appreciated
