    Thanks I just wanted to be sure and being that I already have a nice concrete slab I will build on it. I increased the flock by 3 and they are just starting to lay again. so, Thinking of bigger and better now that I know more. I am looking forward and will hatch a few more.

    I have had a small coop for some time. I am building a new one twice the size. I see most coops are off the ground. is this for any special reason. I'm going to build my new coop on a cement slab. my old one is on 4x4 off the ground.

    Yes the run is about 16 X 8 feet in the coup Two perches (polls) 4 feet all sit on top side by side. plenty of feed and water

    Egg Color

    Is there any reason for a hen to lay brown eggs. and after 6 months the eggs she is laying are now Blue. Why is there a color change?

    I have 6 chickens I can't tell which one is doing it but all year they laid Brown egg's all of a sudden they are blue any reason for this. Should I add something to their diet? some are blue and spotted WHY?

    I have 6 hens I have raised them from chicks. one of them just started laying brown eggs. one or two a day. Lately after she lays the egg she will peck at it and break the shell. she just started to do this is there something wrong or how can I get her to stop?
