I have a hen who lost some of her toenails, she is still doing fine 6 years later. She scrats a bit gentler than the others but it has never seemed to bother her.

I had an adult chicken with two webbed toes; she is just as spry as the others. I would only cut it when and if it begins to impair quality of life. Also, super cute chick!

So turkey egg has now pipped and I was wondering how long it will be till it is out all goes well. Our last turkeys were not pipped when we went to bed and the next day we had fluffy ones.

I would definately keep an eye on it for symptoms of something and feel for lumps and bumps. everything is ok

Can't offer much advice as I have only hatched guineas once, but we had 2 hatch three days early, 1 on the due date and 3 three days after that. We put them in at the same time and they are all identical looking etc. now.

I've heard from lots of people that silkies are the best brooders but I have had orpingtons which have been broody from april untill november with nothing under them.

Can I join too! Today I put 6 black orpingtons under a broody, tomorrow I am putting 6 mixed silkies in the bator and the day after I am putting 6 splash orps under another broody. Super excited already but trying to keep my cool.

I tried to do it few years ago and the hen quit at day 19 and would not go back at all. It might work, and she might be fine physically but I wouldn't want to risk it myself.
