Thank you! Our other EE started laying last week. Cute little mint green eggs. We've gotten about 5 now and they're all peewee sized. Maybe they'll get bigger in time. Meanwhile, my 5 month old RIR just laid me an extra jumbo one.
Thought this girl was an EE but not positive. Possibly Ameraucana? She's about 22 weeks. Not laying yet but started squatting and hanging around nest boxes. Sorry the pics are blurry. She has a pea comb.
Color has changed significantly on the golden one! They were both grey and black at birth. No idea how to sex Easter Eggers. Feeling like Fatty, the golden one, is a he?
And yes, it pooped on the carpet during this photo shoot. Oops! Yucky.
Hey! I'm over in Templeton! We got our first batch of chicks about 6 weeks ago! Started out with 10, lost one on the first day. Bought 11 more shortly after. So 21 total! Lol! One is definitely a rooster though. My kids are 7, 4, and 1 1/2! Glad to find another local on here. :)
My father-in-law planted everything and now we maintain it. So far we have: cherries, pomegranates, apricots, and peaches. My husband recently planted figs and gojis. The garden is devoted to tomatoes that we will be selling. :)
Welcome! I'm a newbie as well. :) I love the part where you said you don't really have hobbies. Saaame! Haha! I'm 33, married, have 3 young kids, 4 dogs, 2 cats, 21 chickens, an orchard, and a large garden. Those things ARE my hobbies!
I would definitely get 2 together and then slowly integrate. My chicks are still in the brooder but we've introduced two separate groups over the past 5 weeks. Each time we divide the brooder using chicken wire and put the new ones on one side. Let's them see each other and get to know each...
