    ----- Just the opposite here... My backyard flock is down to 2 :( We had 3 die from illness and 3 were casualties of a pesky fox. My ideal is to obtain pullets ... U raise the chicks and I'll adopt them ! :)))

    Doesnt look broken but she limps badly sometimes even completely hops on one foot. When she does put weight on it its like she attempts to flip the toes out straight, otherwise they stay curled under. Feels warm upon palpation. Can't feel a break. I'm really not sure how to help her. She...

    I suspect one of my girls has a broken leg. She seems unphased other than a very bad limp. Any suggestions? ??

    Are dirty feathers Just dirty feathers?

    I noticed the "dirt" on my two BO pullets (14weeks). Also checked for mites/lice. Girls look clean otherwise. Any ideas what this is? Just a feather discoloration?

    Since we are new backyard chicken owners, and have recently added new birds to our flock, I wanted to get some input on what my birds "poop" should look like. I've noticed the newer birds areoccasionally having loose "poops". Should I be concerned??

    Wonderful time in Sharpsburg yesterday. Got two RIR/Wyndotte hens. Both have fallen asleep in my 7 yr olds lap. We call him the "Chicken Whisperer".
