Thank you so much. he is outside ( it a fenced area) , doesn't get too cold, but I will but a box with hay out there tomorrow for him.. thank you so much again, as far as his neck being down like that what are your thoughts??
Hatching eggs can be left for up to 10 hours by their mother and they will still usually hatch. especially this early I think they will be fine. I collect my chickens eggs and hatch them and who knows how long they sat in the nesting box before I collected them, it could of been days.
he is in a separate cage with food and water. his poop is solid, white brown and green. They are fed layer pellet, we have 2 acres of dirt and a little bit of weeds and grass. we feed them lots of scraps (ex: lettuce, chips tortillas, pasta) his crop feels squishy.
I have had many silkies. They are a very calm and polite breed. I would keep them in a coop because they are dumb.. I have free ranged chickens and I keep my silkies separate or predators will get them. Other than that they are super cute and a lovable breed. one of my favorites. my profile...
I do not think its anything to worry about, I have about 30 chickens, and most of them don't lay. It may just be stressed. Look out for symptoms like if your chicken looks like she's trying to lay an egg, or has a hard abdomen,or very loose stool.
