Scaly leg mites is caused by scaly leg mites lol.
I haven't had to deal with it yet but I think you have to soak their legs in warm water for a period of time and put vaseline on them. Im sure there would be plenty of threads you could read about how to treat the mites.
It would be pretty uncomfortable for the chicken to have because the mite actually goes under the scales of the legs
