I have just bought myself my first incubator. And I would like to start preparing for when my first chicks hatch, but I have no idea what brooder bulb I should use.
Yes my hen is limping I suspect that she was attacked by a Spotted Gennet a breed of wild cat we get in South Africa.I have seperated her from the other birds as one of the other hens is pecking her continuously.I have also been putting antiseptic on everyday.Have I been doing the right thing?
One of my New Hampshire Red hens has a badly injured leg.She went missing one afternoon and when she came back her leg had a large patch of scales missing. What should I do?
I usually lock my chickens in a coop because we have a caracal in our area that is known for catching peoples chickens. Its also better for if the weather is bad to keep the chickens content and happy.
Their hens have come out of thier moult about 1 month ago so they should have started laying again. The hens cant really lay anywhere else because they are enclosed in a large run.But thanks for all the help so far.Keep Posting
One of my friends have 10 bufforp hens and 3 roosters they were getting about a egg a day from each hen but now they aren't getting one. What can one do to get them to lay?
One of my friends have a similar problem the have 10 bufforp hens and about 3 roosters and recently all of their hens have stopped laying how can you get them to lay again?
Thanks for all the posts.I think my hen may have become stressed lately due to the fact the the wind destoyed the chicken coop and the chickens now have a tempoary shelter while we build a new coop.
I think you'd better take her to the vet because chickens combs usually change to a dark blueish colour if they have bird flu.Alothough I doubt that your hen is infected with the virus.A vet will also be able to tell you wat is really wrong.
Hope She Gets Better Soon
