I have hatched many babies from my Indian Blues this year and the all are identical in color. I had one hatch out today that was lighter. This is the only one that looks like this out of 20. Any ideas?
Updated pic! Just had to share! He is still growing but he looks more mature now. i tell you I have owned many roos but he is by far the nicest! He is such a gentleman.
Just thought I would post an update. This rooster has gotten huge! Yeah he crows now but it is so deep it isn't bothersome. I am so impressed as to how large he is already and he still has some growing to do(no spurs yet). Is there a downside to him getting so big? He is literally twice the size...
Thanks everyone! The not crowing thing is kind of pleasant at the moment to be honest. But what about the spurs? I haven't personally seen a roo without them and his legs are very smooth in that area. I have hens with bigger bumps there than he has.
Its funny cause when i went and looked at...
Thanks! Another question. He is 7-8 months old and has no spurs and doesn't crow. Is that kind of strange? This is my first jersey giant and I know they mature slow but by 8 months shouldn't he be doing something? Not complaining. Just curious. And yes 100% sure he is rooster.
I have acquired a rooster and was told it was a blue jersey giant. The thing is, he is mostly white on his body with random grey feathers and mostly grey from head to neck. Is this a splash? I will try to get a pic. Thanks. -Rachel
