    The specks do not wash off. They are as much the color as the specks that are on my Maran eggs. So the darker brown Maran egg is speckled, it’s more calcium deposits rather than just pigment in the shell color. The other two are more shell color and do not wash off.     I have gotten several blue speckled eggs from my Isbars. Some days are better than others but mostly every egg is speckled. The speckles are a brownish color. I sold 11 dozen eggs yesterday and don’t have one to photograph today. They are med to large size and quite attractive. I can only hope...

    Does it ever work to have 2 roosters in a small flock?

    Sorry for the empty post. I was attempting to use my phone and had an issue! The black bird looks like the Ayam Cemanis that I have, could also be a distant cousin to the Cemeni, Swedish Black. I have both in my flock. An individual photo of her with the legs included would help.

    In Gail Damerow's book, The Chicken Health Handbook, she writes "brushing perches and chickens' legs once a month with a mixture of one part kerosene to two parts linseed oil (not motor oil)." Has anyone tried this?
