    They were locked in their pen...no way anything got to her. if so they could have gone up into the coop and gotten the rest of them.     Last night I found one of my girls dead in the run. There were feathers everywhere around the walk up and the automatic door area. The door was open (should have been closed) . The read out on the door said it was jammed. Has anyone heard of the door killing a chicken? I can't find any other reason.

    I have a couple of ideas for you. What you might have is an egg eater. Put some hard fake eggs in the boxes and that will help. Also pick eggs up a number of times during the day so they don't have a chance to break them. Keep putting out oyster shell, they will eat it when they need it. I...
