    I have 1 nesting box where 3 silkie hens are all broody. I finally gave them eggs and they just keep stealing them for each other.... Strangest things. All together i think i have 8 broody hens..... So silly - there are no eggs under most of them....

    Place your raised beds off the ground like up on cinder blocks. Then you will save your back from bending over and you'll never have a gopher problem that will make you act like Bill Murray in Cadyshack. Whom i felt like till i put in double layers of chicken wire under my raised beds.

    Crossed Beak

    I just saw that one of my silkie babes about 4 or 5 week old has a crossed beak, just a bit so far but I'm sad. it's the Isabella color, which isn't easy to find. The chick came from a shipped egg.
