Meet Nadia. I am a newbie chicken mama and Nadia's comb is very, very different from the others. I think she's either a gold laced Wyandotte or Seabright. Is this comb growth normal?
I know!! We live in the city, so I'm hoping he will be a quiet, well-behaved boy and we can keep him. If not, he has a deluxe farm home where he can charm all the ladies.
I have 8 lovely teenage chicks, but have only been able to identify 4 of them. Thoughts on the remaining bunch??

So my bantam girls are finally big enough to stay outside. They love exploring the coop run area, but are scared of the enclosed portion. I am feeling like such a rookie, but how can I encourage them to go in there and sleep at night? I've already decided it's a downside of this coop that...
I read that one cheap item chicks like to play with is a CD ... hung so they can see their reflection. Mine wouldn't go near it! All I've been able to tempt them with is small logs. Do I need to make special toy 'introductions' so they aren't afraid?

I'm a new chick mamma and the babies are now three weeks old. I have one chick who is the odd one out .... feathers are 'messy' and the comb is far more pronounced. I don't know the exact type, but they're a bantam ... and looked like a chipmunk when little. I live in the city, so no boys...
Hi everyone, I am a first time chick mama and absolutely loving it! I live in the city, so only have six little bantams … hopefully all girls. They are now two weeks old and are starting to look adorably awkward with their feathers coming in.
