Does any one in Georiga sale crested cream legbar chicks? I live in Savannah, but would be willing to drive or pay shipping! My rooster died and I'm down to 2 older girls now
These are my first babies from under a broody hen. They are so adorable running around with all the other girls! They were a little short to reach the waterer, so I "built" them some steps!!!
Well, the babies FINALLY hatched!!! Only 3 chicks, but that's better than none! The mommas are co parenting and all seems to be going well. So exciting to see the babies out and about and not under a heat lamp in my house!!!
No, but I've tried candling other eggs and I'm still not really sure exactly what I am looking for!! Will it hurt them to candle them now or should I just wait and see?

My hen Penny had 4 eggs under her also. I did mark them but then over the next few days, I noticed our egg production was way down from the other girls. After 3 days of this, I finally moved Penny over and she has 15 eggs under her now. Guess I'll wait and candle them in a few days and see...
I might try moving them at night then. I did mark the eggs when I set them so I could tell if new ones got "egg-napped". Thanks for the advice so far!!
Hi everybody,
This is such a great thread. I have a question though. I have 2 broody hens and I decided to put eggs under each of them. They are doing an amazing job, but the more I read this thread, the more I realize I made a mistake. I left them in with the general population. The girls...
