We just saw 4 Rir roosters in the middle of the road. Absolutely beautiful and healthy! In the middle of nowhere. Probably put out by someone. Reddist waddles and combs I've ever seen! Anyone interested?
 
Does anyone have a well mannered Maran rooster that you want to get rid of (close to West Atlanta)?

I have a beautiful 5 month old BCM now, but he is mean - so need to get rid of him. I don't care about breed purity (black copper, blue copper, wheaten or even Cuckoo would be fine) - I want something to breed over my Wheaten to propagate the chocolate spotted eggs.

I'm in Mableton and work down by the airport - so anything south or west would be workable.

It was that rooster - not your fault though - he seemed fine up until 2 weeks ago, then started getting aggressive. If I don't find another rooster close by, I'll keep him in our quarantine pen until we are ready for our hatch (probably December) and give him the 2 hens we want him to breed with for a week - then retire him after and go roosterless for awhile.


He also has a sprained leg from jumping off the roost. Funny - I posted him on craigslist and nobody wants a mean, crippled rooster. Can you believe it? :)

I just don't understand, PEOPLE, maybe he is cranky cause his leg hurts, a nice leg massage might just do the trick.

@JoshFig, I'm in Savannah and I have 3- 16 week old Marans. 1 black, 1 blue, 1 splash. They are the sweetest birds. PM me if you want pics!!

Poor girl! You can tell she is embarrassed by the dumb human antics. You can never tell with people. Chickens (&cats&dogs&etc) are their own selves, not dress up dolls. On the other hand, I work with the public and the way some people dress their kids...........the chicken is getting off light.

I got hatching CCL eggs from Rocky Rhodes on here. Right now I have three females and one male about 2 months old from his eggs. They are real nice. If you want to see if he has any PM me for info. Maybe he could send you some hatching eggs! I do need to tell you that he lives in Blue Ridge which is on the opposite end of the state from you.
