Hi all, I just noticed one of my ducklings has Started chewing hair off of his back. What would cause this? The others aren’t doing it to him or themselves. We put theracyn wound spray on it but he keeps chewing at it

Just an update: the little one with distended belly and deformed legs passed away last night, despite our efforts. 😭 On the positive side, he isn’t suffering. And I’m thrilled to report the other three are wonderful and full of sass. 😊

He cannot hold his head up and tips over on his back and then just lays there. His eyes aren’t opening properly, He squints. Is this wry neck or maybe just strained it from trying to hatch for two days?

Update: he wanted out of its ‘shell’ around 2am and did a lot by himself. I helped with a q-tip and warm water on the spots where the membrane was stuck. Put him back in incubator with bottom half of shell still on. He pulled himself out If the whole thing within 5 min. I moved him and another...

My BF has an app on his phone that tells the humidity and he is at work. He assured me before he left it was over 70%. I also put some warm wet sponges in there.

Yes they are chirping, yawning, and moving. Just gave him a little coconut oil. Veins still showing but not as much.
