I have 2 silkies and I've been reading as many articles as I can. And I just had a couple of questions.
1. Egg laying - I know on average they lay 120 eggs per year, less so in colder months, etc, just wondering from those who happen to have silkies is their laying intermittent...
It happens, and honestly after realising how sick she actually was I think it was better than forcing her to live in pain. It's just one of those things that happens.
From the research I have done and people I have spoken to it seems to be that green tomatoes can be toxic to chickens but the ripe red tomatoes are fine. And the reason you keep them away from the tomato plants is so they don't eat them while they're green.
