Same problems here, I have 7 hens and 1 rooster all under 2 years of age and I went from 5-6 eggs a day to 0-1. Last time I found a bunch out around the yard but now I have found none. I also have a hen who has taken to sleeping in the laying box and filling it with poo.
I have 7 hens and 1 rooster right now and we have had chickens for a year or so. I was getting average of 6 eggs per day and all of the sudden I am getting 1 or none daily. This happened once before during the summer but I found they had taken to laying out of the coop. I have searched all over...
A couple of my girls have started laying in a couple of secluded places outside the coop. There is a new egg there daily it seems. What are the chances that they may start setting on these and they will hatch naturally?
I really think this would be awesome but don't want to get my hopes up. I...
Ok I left the chickens locked up in the coop and run for 4 days. Let them all out to free range this morning and all was good until bedtime when the 2 hard headed chicks did not go to the coop again. Had to go get em out of the lilac bush again.
Anyone have any other ideas or do I just let them...
Still have 2 chicks that refuse to roost in the coop at night. The other 6 go in no problem every night now but the 2 roost in the Lilac Bush and we need to go grab them every night and put them in the coop. Any ideas??

A couple of our chickens have what seems to be Bumblefoot. My wife tried doing the "surgery" herself. Here are a couple pics of what it looks like afterwards. Can someone let me know if their is a less invasive way to fix this? I heard about soaking in some "powder" of some sort.
Suggestions PLEASE
Got home from work today and had 5 eggs back in the nesting box. Nothing outside, 5 had been the norm with my 6 hens so maybe back to "normal" for awhile.
Okay so I was out looking for where the eggs may be and the wife came out and spotted one hen back in the swamp grass behind the coop. When we came back from town she was not there so I checked and sure enough 6 eggs.
