    Separate laying box house?

    You can do that, I have one layer box in the coop in case someone needs to lay before I let them out, before I did that occasionally an egg would be laying on the ground, how embarrassing for the girl.

    Not an expert on this but can you use sand and salt? Or a bunch of hay to get them up. Just shooting in the dark a picture would help.

    A baby aspirin, see how little she is a little piece or desolve one in water and let her drink a little I think that’s what I did. Never with a silky though. Also don’t be afraid to pray.

    Also, check the breed, some are not good free rangers. Flighty birds, I had some, 16 went so far up in the trees we couldn’t get them. They all were Fox food. I still free range just don’t get birds that are not good free rangers. rs.

    It seems to help a lot. When I first started I read a great article, it said go to the end of the driveway and scoop up some grit.     Can I Get My Broody Silkie to Care for 1 week old Chicks?

    If it’s cold and dark they are going to cuddle under her. I’ve alway put young chicks under a hen that’s been broody three weeks. Usually the chicks are the problem not the hen.
