okay, so we are sure it is a hen?
Somebody in my coop is laying small brown speckled eggs... Is that her then?
I've figured out that my wyandottes & barred rock are laying large/med brown eggs and the silkies are laying small white-ish eggs, so is she the one laying the speckled one then...
he/she/it looks like it could be either of those breeds. It doesn't have any longer feathers on the neck. It is also the outcast of the coop-- every morning when I let them out to roam, it is the last to come out, and instead of coming straight out of the coop, runs in circles shrieking before...
He/she/it is about 5 months old. Good to know that they come in other varieties. It also makes a weird noise, not like my other rooster. It kind of shrieks and is flightier than my other chickens. Kind of a funny bird
Love my silkies too, They crack me up
So the feed store told me the one on the far right was a russian orloff, but it doesn't look like the pictures. It is also much smaller than my other chickens, even my bantams. Ideas?
Also-- is it s a roo?
Thanks!!!
HI All,
I have 8 chicks that are about 3/4 weeks old. I just saw a beautiful white silkie hen on craigslist and it spiked some curiousityy-- what would happen if I put a hen in with my chicks? Would she hurt them?
Thanks in advance for your answers!
uh oh re: roo. He's the only frizzle I have and I don't plan to breed. Hopefully no one else I got is a boy either!! Thanks everyone for your responses
So i picked up this little girl ( hopefully girl!) at the feed store about a week and a half ago...
I am new to chickens and confused, is frizzle a breed or just a type of feathering?
Thanks!! and hopefully I got this pic up here...
I just got 6 straight run chicks from the feed store and am now worried i'll end up with a boy. How hard is it to rehome a rooster? What if I end up with more than one?
