    Late Hatch

    Has anyone ever had a hatch that was 4 days late and they finally start hatching. Ours was due to hatch on Thursday of last week and we got nothing. We checked the eggs and seen movement in some so we left them. Finally Monday morning we had 4 chicks. So my question is what could have happened...

    New to chickens here in Georgia

    Hi, my name is Silvia. I'm from Cedartown, Ga. This site has been so very helpful to me and my husband as we are both new to chickens. Currently we have NHR, Black Cochin bantams, and some Marans. We are in love with these chickens. We find ourselves chicken watching all the time. Lol

    I don't think it's a Dominique because it was yellow as a small chick. But I think they are the same breed just different colors. I was thinking the same thing.

    Hatching

    This is my 1st hatch and I left thermometer in the incubator and one of the eggs under it is trying to hatch. Can I take it out? Will it effect it?

    Sick chicks!!

    I think we have passed the worst of it. We only lost the 3. All the chickens and chicks are doing great. I still have 2 chicks separated from the rest of the flock to recover because there symptoms where so severe.
