oh i didnt take it that way at all. I'm a newb.
yea i just need to be persistent i guess and keep my temper hah. I have dunked him in his pond a few times lol. Light kicks dont seem to do much. Picking him up and holding him helps a bit.
It's definitely aggression though initially. Hard pecks...
But the pecking behavior can be bad. You don't want your drake being alpha right? Biggest problem i have is its very aggressive. Not the pecking but I can't even walk lol...If i kneel down he chills out but even after quite some time of attention he will chase me again and step in front of my...
Hand raised a drake that imprinted pretty well on me. Now hes older and mating etc and exhibiting some behavior im not a fan of.
He will run across the yard when I come out of the house and if im standing still he will circle my feet....just doing laps and laps. Rarely biting my pants. Mostly...
yea I let him out as much as i can. usually in the yard for 1-2 hours a day but the duckling doesnt leave my side. Sometimes he gets within a few feet of the drake but he wont do a thing until the duckling walks away from him lol.
I have a 4 week old duckling that i've been introducing a few times daily to my other 4 ducks. (1 drake 3 females). Probably for 2-3 weeks now.
I've read on here that drakes can either be really cool with ducklings or try to kill them. The duckling is still indoors and this is the only thing...
First one is solid. The last 2 are a little weak. I did quite a bit to help them out but no blood. They are a lil wobbly but giving them time to work in the muscles etc.
had to move the first one out because it kept following and trying to climb my hands as i was trying to help the others...
first one is out! seems to be doing well. As soon as it popped out and started making noise the 2nd started to get to work on unzipping. 3rd is still being a lazy bum but moving inside.
One has advanced. This is ~15 mins old and it started zipping. The zip line is closer to the base right now. The other 2 i can barely see some movement like breathing but not much progress compared to this morning.
haha
Unfortunately I woke up to the incubator humidity at 32%. Down from ~88%. I underestimated the 2 small holes i left wide open etc.
They are peeping though. 1 got some work done but no definite "zipping".
Far left egg i started to remove some of the crushed shell and found the membrane...
Yea it has a fan that is still going. 2 of the eggs i started incubating pretty much the day they got laid.
I can't say for sure about the time since first ext pip but i noticed it this morning. I'm assuming it happened overnight.
