Posted ~ month ago about my first hatch ended up losing all 4 eggs early on. Learned a lot.

Started a new one and its day 25. Was just about to put them on lock down. They were at ~47% humidity and ~100 temp... 2 of them had already externally pipped ~half an inch or so. All of them look like they internally pipped.

I removed the turned and layed them pip side up. Hopefully it doesn't cause issues.

I remember reading that higher temps would speed up the hatch but didnt think it would speed it up this much. Wasn't expecting action at all until sunday. Temps were ~100-101 the whole time.

brought humidity up to ~80-90% and will adjust a bit but hopefully wont be an issue since they are so close to popping.

These are Anconas

Seems they are taking a break.

3rd egg now has some pipping.

4th still nothing visible. This one will be behind a bit im sure but will he eventually shift himself into position if i messed up his positioning when i removed him from the turner?

I'm a little nervous that he may start pipping on the bottom where I can't see.

Looks fine! Ducks take their time and knock around the shell several times before starting to zip. They are a little early, but if they are ready to come out, they will! Lol

Does your incubator have a fan? 101 isn’t bad if it doesn’t have a fan, but if it has one, then that’s the reason they are so early. I hate to rush them quite that much, but with the heat we have had, maybe they started incubating as soon as they were laid? Or a hen laid on them some?

So how many hours since the first external pip?

Yea it has a fan that is still going. 2 of the eggs i started incubating pretty much the day they got laid.

I can't say for sure about the time since first ext pip but i noticed it this morning. I'm assuming it happened overnight.

haha

Unfortunately I woke up to the incubator humidity at 32%. Down from ~88%. I underestimated the 2 small holes i left wide open etc.

They are peeping though. 1 got some work done but no definite "zipping".

Far left egg i started to remove some of the crushed shell and found the membrane whole and a bit dried out. Decided to cut a small hole in it seen in the pic.

Middle egg I removed a bit of shell and found a small hole the duck had created. Left him alone.

Right Egg removed a bit of shell and candled. He is still moving but not much work being done.

Bottom egg does not have any pipping and no movement i could see. Probably dead but will wait it out.

Hopefully the little help i did provide wont cause any issues. Overdid it on humidty and its back up to ~90%. Will have to baby that and get it down.

I'm guessing at this point I just wait it out and let them do the rest over another 24 hours?

Tomorrow morning would be ~48 hrs
