Wooooo! We raised the chooks from about a week old, so its been a fairly long wait for this first egg. I wasnt really expecting anything - we've just introduced new chooks to the mini-flock, and we are in autumn here in Australia. A knowledgeable lady told me that they probably wouldnt start...

Im quite taken with the look of Barred Plymouth Rocks, but they dont seem that easy to find? Does anyone know where I can get some? My girls are about 3...
They do look like golden comets...what I can see from a quick google anyways. But is Isa brown and golden comets just different names for the same thing?

The browns do look very much like Isa Browns (lots of brown eggs would be awesome)
and after reading that link about sex links (Thanks Chris - although it almost broke my brain, hehe) that makes a lot of sense. As chicks they were 'silver' and 'gold'.
