    If you read farther into the article, Kayla, it goes on to explain how the oats are bad for their digestion, preventing absorption of healthy foods, and giving them icky poop...so oats are bad for treats.

    I got these chicks from Tractor Supply last week. The yellow ones were sold as Columbian Rocks, but the feathers are coming in brown!! Anyone want to guess what they really are????

    So, to update my thread, of the 5 chicks I got, the 2 brown and the black and white one all turned out to be boys, dang it! Lesson learned, never pick a pretty chick, pretty chicks will be pretty roosters!! We ate them, and the two little grey hens laid little green and blue eggs, medium/small...

    Alex, I got these chicks from a young small farmer not far down the road from me.....my flock was killed by a fox a couple weeks back, so I scrambled to find chicks right away, the feed stores were all sold out. So, let's see if I understand this right...an Ameracauna is a breed that lays blue eggs, and if you mix it with another breed you get an EE...is that right??
