    What gender is my chicken?

Thanks. I assumed it was a rooster, but I thought it would be a good idea to confirm with people who know more about chickens than I do before we take it back.

How much should my chicks be eating?

I know they knock out food, today I realized how much food they have knocked out, it's quite a bit. :/ I'm going to try raising the feeder on some wood to make it harder for them to scratch at the feed. The chicks are eating, the feed has small pieces as well as big ones, I'm just concerned...

How much should my chicks be eating? And are their feed pieces too big for them to eat?

Thanks for the response! I will try crushing the feed a bit and a raised feeder and see what happens. If they still seem to still be eating a lot, then I'll just go with it. Thanks again!

How much should my chicks be eating? And are their feed pieces too big for them to eat?

In the first week I had them, they went through almost 1lb of feed in a week, so them...

    Question regarding coop flooring

Ok, so I've been looking at some tractor coop designs to get ready to build a coop for my three chicks. My question is could chicken wire be used as flooring for the part of the coop that houses the chickens? I see people using linoleum as flooring, but no chicken wire, why is that?

My chick just scared me twice within 5 mins -- A knot in her feathers and limping

I know I just posted a big whole long thread about an hour an a half ago, but my Frizzle chick, Scootaloo, just scared me twice. First, she went to pick at something in her feathers and her beak got stuck and she tried to break free by shaking her head, her getting stuck scared me so I picked...
