I came home to find this!!! Being a new chicken owner... I would like some tips... thank you in advance!
Also, my two chicks I had were moved outside... where my dogs were. Somehow my dogs opened the gate and now I don’t have those chicks anymore... accidents happen, right? I know this won’t...
Hey guys... help needed! I got tractor supply chicks three weeks ago, and both of them are very scared of me. I have tried to hold them and get them used to me, but it seems to be stressing them out more than helping them.
Hey guys, I have actually found out a way to sex chicks... but they have to be VERY young.
I learned this from a chicken lady... so... here it is:
You hold them by their feet, and then you turn them upside down...
If they try to curl up they are a male, if they don’t care and just allow it...
Hey guys! I know y’all havent heard from me in a while, but an update, and questions, are here!
1: What type of chicks are these? I got them from tractor supply, and I can’t tell!
2: I ordered more Silkie eggs, and I was wondering if I could put these chicks together with the new ones once...
I candeled all of the eggs (didn’t get to crack open yet) and on one of them it seems to have veins on the dark end, although it’s very hard to tell/see...
So you think I should try to assist? I mean, y’all are all saying they’re probably dead, so I am really not making anything worse than it already is... right?
Oh okay... I candled on the 25th day and the egg was like it was supposed to be... I’m sad to know the truth... :hit
Is there any chance that maybe, just maybe, they will hatch? :fl
The temp is 35.5 C... I thought that was at the high end... Also, It’s day 28, I don’t think assisting will do anything worse... but again this is my first hatch so....
