    This is Shasta, an eggcellent layer of pretty blue eggs. Is she a good representative of the breed?

    I got her from an independent breeder, she’s 16 weeks. The woman had black and silver laced birds she said were cluchmates. The black’s comb looks like a v, very dark. The laced bird has straight comb.

    My bird are about 10 weeks old, and roost at night about 8 feet high. Will my hens be able to make the climb as they mature? I have a couple OEGB that basically fly up easy.The more rubenesque hens struggle to make the height.
