    that is your basic wild goose chick. he/she will grow very fast. I think the right thing to do is bring it to a local park where geese are known to be active and see if you can get a mama with chicks to accept him in the group. Geese like ducks are very social. It will not be happy as a pet...

    YES.... Yes it is. They get so pissed off when the mallard can fly outside the pen and they are left looking through the chicken-wire at him having the run of the yard.

    I have had a mallard for 1.5 years now. he can fly very well but stays in the yard. he has 2 pekin ducks that he grew up with that cant really fly so they may tend to keep him where he is.

    yes its ok :) If ducks are not with other ducks they assume they are the same as whomever they spend the most time with. Your dog looks like he has accepted being mama duck for now.

    Duck, Duck, Rooster

    I have the same issue however we got rid of the rooster because he was chasing my 7 year old daughter around the yard as well. My hens are super mean to my 5 ducks. Ducks and chickens just dont get along. :)
