Trials And Tribulations Of Suburban Meat Bird Production

Birdinhand, when you order your chicks do you order them with the additional coccidiosis and salmonella enteritidis vaccines? Thank you so much for all your information on the thread. Your journey makes it easier for us just starting. :)

Anyone ever use Sweet PDZ or Stall Dry with chickens?

I also use Sweet PDZ. Approx. 2" deep on my poop boards under the roost, and sprinkled over the sand in their floor and outside run. No smell and works exceptionally well.

What bedding do you use? - POLL

Love, love, love the sand. Mixed with Sweet PDZ. No smell, wonderful clean chickens with exfoliated feet!

What's the best litter for a large chicken run?

Before I got my girls I did a LOT of research on this site. Lol! After reading hundreds of posts over several months I went with sand and am extremely happy with the ease of cleaning and non issue of smells. I have 8-16 week old girls, a 6'x8' house, a 12'x18' run.

    ADOR1 Automatic Coop Door?

Yes, please post. I installed my door and it works exactly as shown in your video, has since the very beginning. Husband insisted the door appeared to be "laboring" upon opening. Installation of my door was also in July, so we may have purchased about the same time. Thank you for updating us!
