I've never done it, but we had a neighbor who did. From what I've heard raising them in different areas until they are grown should be fine, once they are grown put them together should be fine. But like I said I don't have any experience, just what I've seen and heard.
Relocating is legal in some states.... we usually don't but from time to time we have relocated.... it wouldn't help really with skunks, but we used to also give coons to a guy my dad worked with to train his hunting dogs
Just my opinion, but it shouldn't hurt them if you add it in slowly mixed with their normal feed, I wouldn't go exclusively with it until they are laying age
So, last spring I had a duck sitting on some eggs, but she left the nest after only three hatched, I think there were 9 eggs all together and I think only 3 were "duds" and the other 3 were half hatched but the babies had frozen to death (Im guessing they froze because it was a chilly morning)...
I always love the "christmas morning" effect of mixing breeds! I can't help but to sit and stare as the little ones hatch seeing the different colors and designs! But I also see the need in keeping breeds pure, no 2 of our ducks share the same breed, because we never intended on hatching any...
All the ducklings went to new homes except for the white one and the last one to hatch, so idk what the others ended up looking like but since we are talking about hatching, what would make a momma duck abandon a nest after only a few ducklings hatch? One of our other ducks had 12 eggs, 6...
Neither look to be cross bred, but could very well be, all their other babies look like the rouen, just with hints of blue thru their feathers, like blue laced rouens! Lol
Ok, so here's my situation 8 months ago I lost a banty hen, 4 months later I lost a sex link hen, yesterday I lost one of my "bard yard crosses" all three had the same symtoms, they walked side-ways (when they could even walk) stumbled around like they were drunk and their necks where twisted so...
Ducks are like potato chips, you can't have just one!!!! LOL i would for sure get a duck buddy for your duck! just like MAMADUCK1 said, if you are getting one get it now or you'll have imprinting issues.....
My parents neighbors have turkeys and chickens that free range together, and as far as we know never had problems, in fact we are gonna get some turkeys to go out with our chickens this spring. And as far as Midget Whites, Murray McMurray Hatchery is the only place ive seen them for sale, you...
Me and my dad are planning on getting some turkeys this spring! We are gonna go the "hatchery route" and order some Black Spanish, Bourbon Reds, and Blue Slates from Cackle Hatchery! You should check them out, they have 5 "heritage breeds" that'll breed naturally..... Oh watch your BBB's too...
For eggs, RiR's are good, Barred Rocks are as well, as far as pets, i have a pair of OEG bantams and both are friendly as can be, my 2 yr old daughter just loves those "baby chickens" as she calls the and can walk right up to the hen and pick her right up! The rooster isn't as tame and usually...
Oh yes! Posting some Pics is a must DKMfan! I'm glad the little fella was too big for your snake, you will be too soon! oh, quick off topic question, my cousin wants a boa, and I want pet mice, I figured we could go in on it together and I'd raise snake food for him (the offspring of my pets...
