    Duck politics

That's what I'm hoping. She's still "the other one", while they are "the three", but they seem happy enough.

    Duck politics

Well one night of what sounded like extreme passion Olympics later...this boy, who has not managed to stay on top of the two girls [he always rolls off at the crucial moment] has been climbing all over the new girl and staying on board long enough to do the dirty deed. I love that they are all...

    Ducks chasing feet

My boy charges along behind if I have their favouroite blue bowl in my hand that might just be frozen peas, not nipping but nudging. He's wonky with turned in feet but he shifts when he wants to.

It appears we may be getting her permanently, which is going to make their house a tad crowded :/

    Duck politics

Last summer we acquired three ducks, all from the same batch of eggs, and next door also got two, so all five were related. Their beautiful boy was attacked a few weeks back by a fox that got in, in broad daylight. Sadly two weeks later he died in the night. So that leaves his sister all...

I'm going to follow him round all day!

    Lopsided male

Sorry for the silly delay, but here we go, video of Ginger the Wonkyduck with the two girls. Healthy, noisy, utterly useless at mating but still protective of his patch. The breeder is adamant they are Abacots, the mother has been with her for 16 years, so I just call them ducks, it saves any...

    Lopsided male

His brother next door is smaller but has a jet black head. The females also have that blue flash that the Appleyards have but I will always bow to experience over Google though 😁

    Lopsided male

There's no way it can be a niacin deficiency with the number of peas and meal worms they get to eat. They eat better than I do! That's no joke. So far their new house is over £250 in the building and the freezer is stuffed with bags of veg. And cupboards filled with pasta, preferably penne...

He is very much like these Silver Appleyards and the girls look like them too.

    Lopsided male

Yes everything is duck specific, we're blessed with two great sources of everything we could possibly need. He's not unhealthy in any way though not very bright.

    Lopsided male

I've not noticed his foot before, will check tomorrow and sort a video too. I've never been convinced he was an Abacot as he's such a monster but I know only what I've learned in six months from scouring these pages. Should add he's got a brother from the same batch of eggs living next door...

    Lopsided male

Grower pellets, boiled up veg leftovers but nothing oniony, sprouted mung beans (and others) and they get to dig up all the flower beds for the hundred worms I added to new topsoil last summer. They also get meal worms and koi carp food treats.

    Lopsided male

I have got a male and two female Abacot Rangers who are lively, appear healthy, eat an awesome varied diet and are probably a bit pampered. Now the boy has developed this weird crooked body position so his head and neck are over to the left. It mirrors the position the girls when they do their...

That sounds like a plan then :)
