I wanted to have a way to make sure my birds have water all the time in the hot Texas summer and find a way to keep from breaking my back lugging a heavy bucket into the coop. Nifty-Chicken uses the Auto Wata inside his coop and I found one to use in my hoop house. aI'm very happy!
I want to make a roos for my hoop coop. I think that I can take 2X4's and make a ladder to lean up against the back of the coop but I am having a hard time visualzing how to nail the cross boards on so that the birds have the 4" side up to stand on. I could do it easily and have teh 2" side up...
Here is a link to my thread showing how I made this house.

We had a storm last spring with winds up to 80 miles an hour and a microburts and the hoop house took it with no problems. The base is 2X4's and heavy so that probably helps.
Mine LOVE LOVE LOVE pecans. I have a tree in the backyard and if I crush a fallen nut the girls will come running from all over the yard and peck my foot off.!
I have roasted them like everyone else but instead of using butter I ahve used butter that I mixed with Harissa (moroccan hot sauce) or chipotle in adobo then slather on and roast.
Heaven!
all 5 of my hens have something like this on their combs. My eggs have slacked off to about 2 a day as well. Is this something serious?
If you can't tell I'm talking about the dark spot and the ashy "bloom" on the comb & wattle.
Thanks!
My blue tarp has fallen apart from sun exposure:( I have a silver camping tarp, mush heavier material. Is this stuff more UV strudy? this blue tarp only lasted 6 months.
