What size in general do you give for nesting ?
10"X 12" or something like that ?
Can you stack them like two high?
I have 7 older hens (non laying now)
I have 10 new chicks and @ some point they will all be together..
Will six nesting boxes be enough ?
Hello,it's been a while ..
I have a large barrel with a hose going to three nipple/cups ..
I have only been filling it about a third (30 gal)
What can I add to the water to keep the koodies (slime) away ..
I have a couple of large leaves/chicken poop piles.
I have a couple of dogs that can smell when I add the poop!
What can I spray the plies with .. to hide the smell .... vinegar?
Has anyone installed/cut in a sight window to see how much feed is in a 5gal bucket feeders?
I thought of cutting a vertical slot 6" off the bottom up to 2" from the top and covering it with a clear plastic .
I do not think it will hurt it any.
If you have , could you please post pics of...
Treats
Teach them to come when called with treats like grapes or some thing they really love!
So when you need to get them in you just go into pen and they will follow!
I have no problem with the smell , I work in a waste water treatment plant!
Removing the wet poop was like shoveling wet heavy slushy snow, thank God snow doesn't smell like that!
What I'm looking for is what to mix in with the sand to help remove the lingering smell , PDZ , Barn Lime, Vinegar ?
Half covered and yes it gets wet.
Been a slacker ... close to 2" of poop and you're right about the smell when wet!
Removed 99% down to sand again .. a least it's draining again !
Still some odor...
OK what are the masses using to help with Odor control in there outdoor run that has sand ?
The sand seams to have taken hold of the poop odor!
Thanks
Sean
