    Breed Recommendations?

Honestly just enjoy having chickens as pets. I love my birds. Want them to mix well and be happy. I have a separate flock of larger layers but they are a bit much for the little polish at times.

    Breed Recommendations?

What medium or small breeds are good to mix in with a flock of polish? I'm interested in adding some different breeds to my small flock. Prefer more docile nature as I don't want a lot of head pecking/bullying.

    Chicken pox!

Has anyone got advice for dealing with fowl pox? I've had this problem once before a few months ago and it's now back again! 😕 it's affected two separate pens now, oddly enough only my roosters so far. Question 1. What should I be feeding at this time when the birds aren't feeling 100%...

Has anyone used one of these as a chicken run? What is the quality and durability like?

    Hungry hungry hen!

Premium poultry mix mostly, I give them a variety of things to pick at a couple times a week and no matter what it is she hogs it to herself.

    Hungry hungry hen!

I have a hen a few years older than the rest of my flock called Bumble bee. She lost her flock mates in a fox attack about 4-5 mouths back. I kept her in her coop/run after that, no more free ranging for a while. In spring I raised some new chicks with the plan to introduce Bumble to a new flock...

    Mystery chicks?

Yes I thought I picked the Sussex chicks lol but now I'm looking up barnevelder it seems to fit! Looks like i have two pullets and one roo. They do look pretty spectacular in the pictures I've seen. Plus all 3 chicks are very sweet and frendly so I'm still happy.

    Mystery chicks?

The spots on the head are just bits of down that haven't come out yet. Feathers on head looking mostly black. Here is one as a baby.

    Fowl pox?

Should I be concerned about introducing young birds in a month or two?

    Fowl pox?

Thank you that link is a big help. I currently have chicks just about ready to go to an outside pen, I'm hoping in a couple months they won't pick it up from the environment once introduced to the big chicken coop.
