I ordered the vaccine for Coryza but need information on what type of needle to use and how exactly to give the shot. Do diabetic needles work? Need to vaccinate chicks and one grown bird. They are new and not infected. Can I vaccinate the infected birds once they are better? How much of the...
My whole flock is sneezing and has lice. At night they all make wheezing sounds. One standard chicken has yellow diarrhea. Our bantam silkies have bubbly eyes and one has swelling under one eye. We've bathed them all and cleaned and sanitized coops. We feed them organic food and they free range...
Yea, I have both of those but I'm discovering that certain breeds of those lay brighter colors. For example, the wheaten colors seem to lay super blue in ameraucana breeds and super dark brown in maran and penedesencas.
Here's my eggs. I have RIR, plymouth barred rock, EE, golden laced Wyandotte, buff Orpington, black Minorca. I still want super dark brown eggs, bright blue, and dark green eggs. What are the best breeds for those? I have a cuckoo maran that isn't laying yet and some wheaten penedesanca chicks...
I have a lice infestation right now. I'm planning on treating the birds and coop. What are everyones preventative measures to keep bugs away and to keep chickens healthy overall? I wanna do preventative so I don't have issues again!
These babies both came off an Ebay purchase. It was our first hatch and only 2/7 hatched.....our rates are better now thankfully! These are their pictures when they were a couple days old. From what I know, they came from a pen mixed with these types of chickens....
Three roosters, one frizzle...
When I tried to put my bantam silkies in the coop with my standards, the bantams got chased around so much I was worried they weren't able to get any food or water. Do you think it's okay to put them together?
I think I wanna try to hatch some eggs from my flock. So our rooster can live on in some way or another. Our flock is a random assortment of hens to our white Silkie roo. Babies should be interesting. I don't even know if they are fertile but I should do it soon. Hens stay fertile for 2 weeks right?
Our rooster was recently eaten and we are trying to figure out what breed to get next. We want them to be friendly and social if possible but def not aggressive. We will only want one maybe twoo roosters but plan on breeding him as well. We have an egg laying flock with random hens ameboid fun...
