Mine started off in a hutch, I've literally only had mine about a month now. So at the start I was putting them in and then I gave them some mealworms at the bottom of the ladder and threw some up it aswell. I shine my light down aswell so they can see where they're going. Then for the first the...
No their feathers didn't stain :) the strawberrries didn't last long enough to stain lol I tried them with some porridge and sunflower seeds last night/this morning.. they loved it too!
I've been growing my own strawberries and they've only started to become ripe this past few days. So tonight I cut one up and thought I'd try giving it to Sadie and Silvie... to say they loved it would be an understatement lol I've tried to attach the video but it wouldn't upload :(
I've never had chickens before so I'm literally hopeless I wouldn't mind if she was a boy - though she would need a different name Thanks ☺️ They're funny little birdies... I could watch them run around their coop all day lol
They're around 6 months old... I did ask the man if they were definitely girls and he said they were so I never really doubted it but recently people have made comment and it's made me think I'll try to get some side standing shots - if they can keep still for long enough lol
I've posted on here about my 2 Silkies before... i was told by the man I bought them off that they were definitely 2 girls but recently some people have said Sadie - the bigger one - looks like a Roo. As I've never had chickens before I'm not sure what to look for so I'm just wondering if anyone...
They're 5/6 months old :) how old is yours? I think Silvie might be slightly younger though cause she's a wee bit smaller! I was told they're both girls - so I'm hoping they are! Lol no eggs yet but no crowing either lol! Sadie has really crazy hair at the top! I've been told they're so hard to...
So I've had my Silkies for 2 weeks now and tonight when I went to put them into their coop they had already tucked themselves in :) this is probably minor for most people but I'm new to this all! lol normally I stand and call them up and they come waddling up the ladder!
I have a box ready for if they decide to lay with some straw in it but at the minute they're lying on top of each other beside it lol I'll just have to keep an eye out around their coop if they decide not to lay in their box. I'm definitely going to give the fake eggs a go and see what happens :)
I've noticed my two piling together at night. They would pile outside on the grass then when I call them up the ladder they come up and pile together up there too! lol I do have a box with straw in it for them to lay but at the minute they lie on wee mats on top of their grids with wood shavings..
Thank you :) they aren't laying at the minute - they're only around 5 months but I've had their nesting box in from they arrived. The first few nights I put them in it but now that they know their coop they just come up when I call them and lie in a wee pile at the top of the ladder so I've been...
