Ok thanks for the reply..it just wasn't the reply I was hoping to hear but I suppose that must be the answer..can't believe this has happened though to my favourite of all my show ducks and I have had her for 4 years now and she had raised many broods and was a great mother duck and a lovely pet...
My female call duck, who is the mother of all my call ducks was continuously laying eggs in a nest she had made in a hedgerow...last night was quite rainy but she persisted to sit on her eggs so I left it to her, but I went down to check later that night and there was no sign of her on the nest...
I brought her to the vet this morning and he said that she had an internal infection, as he was about to administer the injection, she sadly passed away in his hands..It was very upsetting but at least she is not suffering anymore..she was one of my best show calls and had won many prizes so she...
Ok thank you for the advice Amiga..I am not sure if there is a vet local that would know what to do with her, they're more specialised in other animals but I will mention the above information, the vet is not open now but I will try and bring her tomorrow morning..Is there anything else I can do...

Hey there, I would definitely recommend getting new ducks from a different source to make sure there is no chance of them inbreeding...inbred ducks can have deformities or internal problems and some might not hatch at all..so over all yes try get a different bloodline if you intend to breed from...
I agree with Amiga!! Although I know that Khaki Campbell's can be good at brooding and rearing their own young as my Khaki Campbell has done so..so have the incubator and brooder on stand-by just in case..but give her a chance, it's possible
Glad to be of any help...well some of my ducklings were hatched out naturally under the mother duck and they free-ranged from day 1...while others I hatched out myself in an incubator and they just seemed to mix in with the flock after about a week or so..and I have also added adult ducks to my...
