My female call duck has been lifeless for the last 2 days...she won't eat or drink anything, yet there is an extremely fowl smell coming from her vent and she has diarrhea containing blood, although I know she is not egg bound as there is no egg stuck in her vent..she is under a year old and has not began to lay yet..has anyone got any advice on what to do or how to help her...any advice would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

She has an infection. A vet would be your best help - she may have peritonitis. Or an intestinal infection. Either way, oral or injectable antibiotics are needed. For such a little one, I don't know what the dosage would be, or the best antibiotic. There is Tylan, Duramycin, Penicillin, and several others. But she needs help fast.

She may have an intestinal parasite, in which case an antihelminthic would be needed. Someone needs to look at her feces under a microscope to see.

I need to be away from the computer for a while….

Ok thank you for the advice Amiga..I am not sure if there is a vet local that would know what to do with her, they're more specialised in other animals but I will mention the above information, the vet is not open now but I will try and bring her tomorrow morning..Is there anything else I can do to help her?? I have quite a big flock of ducks so I have kept her separate from them for the past few days so hopefully none of the rest get sick..is there anything else I should do in the meantime concerning the rest of the flock..should I worm them as well? thanks

I brought her to the vet this morning and he said that she had an internal infection, as he was about to administer the injection, she sadly passed away in his hands..It was very upsetting but at least she is not suffering anymore..she was one of my best show calls and had won many prizes so she will be greatly missed...Poor mini
