Does this bantam hen look like a cross bred?

Thanks, that's great info! Her and some of her chicks do have dark legs, but no extra toes that we've noticed.

Does this bantam hen look like a cross bred?

We bought this tiny mama along with her 6 chicks at an Amish auction. Someone mentioned s she was a Seabrite, but the pictures I found don't look anything like her. Her chicks have a lot of variety too, so I'm guessing they are crossed with something, and she possibly is too. Has anyone had any...

    Chanticleer roosters?

I have these Chanticleer and Chanticleer cross chickens. I got them from a friend, so I know they are a mixture of Chanticleer, Silkie, and possibly Easter Egger. Some look more Chanticleer, while some have clear Silkie characteristics. Am I right to think these are both roosters? I'm just not...

Barnyard mix, possibly EE, 8 weeks old.

Heres some individual pictures. Most of them I'm pretty sure which are roos and which are pullets, but a few I'm stumped, especially the ones that appear to have a pea comb. Pullet Roo ? Pullet ? Roo ? Roo ? Pea comb? Pullet ? ? Pea comb?

Barnyard mix, possibly EE, 8 weeks old.

There seems to be an eyeball, but the eyelid and skin around his eye are deformed. I can't tell if he can close the eye or not, but he can at least blink his third eyelid. I explained what happened to him in the comment above.

Barnyard mix, possibly EE, 8 weeks old.

He had part of the shell membrane stuck over his head. I don't know if he had a problem with his eye already, and that's why he didn't get it off completely, or if that caused his eye to be messed up. The membrane was dry and stiff when I found him, and it it was under one wing, so he would have...

Barnyard mix, possibly EE, 8 weeks old.

I know these are bad pics, and I'll try to get better ones tomorrow. I got 18 fertile eggs from a friend from my firat-time broody mamas, 15 hatched. (Holy cow! Beginner's luck?!) My friend has know idea what kind of chickens they have, so they are some sort of mix. Most of the eggs were a...

Jersey Giants? Barred Rock? I'm not sure on a couple. Pullets or Roos?

They all have yellow feet, so hopefully I'm good that way!

Jersey Giants? Barred Rock? I'm not sure on a couple. Pullets or Roos?

I ordered 5 straight run Black Jersey Giants from the local feed store, which ordered from Welp, I believe they said. Got them on May 21, so they're just over 4 weeks old. They all looked pretty much the same when we got them, but as they got their feathers in, one started looking much...

    Black Australorp, roosters? 13-14 weeks.

Oh, and it's only 12 now. The one that had been picked on the worst died last night. We had them separated since Tuesday and the wounds had healed over, but I guess maybe we should have waited until the feathers had grown back.

    Black Australorp, roosters? 13-14 weeks.

It's ok! We WANTED roosters! She just had a couple of hatches together in a coop and as we left said, I think they are all roosters. We're getting some hens from my husband's aunt later this summer, so these are our meat birds for now. Thanks for the replies!

    Black Australorp, roosters? 13-14 weeks.

These are my Black Australorps, when I bought them the lady said they are 'just over 3 months', so I'm not sure the exact week. I'm positive that 11 are roosters, and at least one has started crowing but I haven't been able to catch which. But there are two that I'm not certain about. They don't...

    Excited to be here!

This looks like the perfect place for me to learn as much as I can about chickens! We had chickens when I was a kid, but that's been a 'few' years now. My husband and I are buying his parents house and 37 acres, so we're ECSTATIC to finally be able to start growing our hobby farm! First I comes...
