I have 12 Rhode Island Reds and they are in their first laying season. In the beginning of their laying season I would receive 4/12 large eggs every 2 day, but now I receive 1/12 maybe once a week. Any tips on how to help/make them lay larger eggs? Vitamins? Protein??
It is extremely cold where I live and I was wondering what I can do to keep my chickens warm? I have locked them away in the coop closed all the air vents and windows but I dont know if that is enough! Any ideas????
I have never had a chicken that was egg bound. But my Rhode Island Red hen is eating, drinking and using the bathroom frequently but hasn't laided any eggs in 6 days. What are the symptoms of "egg bound" and how is it fixed? Note it has been really cold where I live and I dont know if she hasn't...
@Shan30 Ok and Yes she is eating and drinking water also she does roost at night and she does go outside with the others but she is not laying and isnt as active as the others.
My Rhode Island Red hen has a squatted neck and isnt as active as the other hens. She is eating and drinking but her behavior has changed. Does this mean she is sick and how do tell what she has? Im a beginner at raising chickens.
