Thanks so much, I did manage to get her seperated, and I saw her eating so that’s good. As for the soaks I will try but honestly speaking it likely won’t work. Do you recommend I leave the prolapse out then? And just keep it hydrated with Vaseline.
Hey, I just tried
to clean her up, it is damn near impossible. She is very skittish and th yolk/blood is dried into her feathers. As for her vent I tried to get some Vaseline on, not much got on. But I did do sprays of vetericyn plus, so her vent is still outside. It is red and looks weird. She...
Hey, thank you for replying. I don’t have a picture but I can definitely get one tmr morning I hope she will be alright. I will try cleaning her up but tonight she wanted nothing to do with me and she is one of my more skittish hens so I couldn’t do anything alone.
Hello, I currently have a hen who seems to have a prolapsed vent. I don know how long she’s been like this. Tonight as I was putting everyone to bed I saw she was dripping both blood and what seems like yolk from her backside. There’s blood and yolk smeared on her butt and I think part of her...
I can’t really feel her crop after I feed her. I haven’t washed her eyes yet but I’ll see if I can get the supplies soon. Today her eye had like bubbly white foam. And I cleaned it but then her eye was ‘popping’ I know that sounds terrible but her eye would puff up as if theres air or liquid...
I don’t know how to check crop emptying. How do I check that? Yes her eye is a little puffy. Sorry for asking so many questions but how do I flush her eyes and what type of saline do I use. I do give her water using shallow cups but she does not care because all she does is sleep. Every once in...
I have some from Tuesday, the eyes look pretty much the same from them except she won’t open her eyes to eat food now. I’ve been opening her beak and giving her food every morning and night. She also does not want water, I barely get any drops in her beak, is there a way I can get her to drink...
Thank you. I have to get more crumble feed because I only have corn right now. But I can’t feed her egg or food if she doesn’t open her mouth and eat it. :(
Hi, I posted a thread about my chicken and I’m so thankful for people who responded to that one. I’m hoping to reach more people. My one year old chicken is not seeing properly, keeping her one eye shut and yesterday she managed to eat lots if I keep my hand close to her eye. She can’t aim and...
I don’t have B complex I have just been trying to give her the vitamin e tablet mixed with egg yolk but she wont even open her mouth. She did not eat today except for a few peanuts she managed to eat. I don’t know what to do if she’s not eating.
The first picture is her this morning she is just standing still, that’s how she is everytime I see her. But I believe she did lay an egg today so that’s a plus? The second picture is how she holds her neck when she goes to eat something. Bht she twists it a lot more now.
