I have a mixed flock of hens and one rooster -- my question is, if I hatch the eggs from the mixed chickens and raise them... do I have to worry that they might be sterile? I would like to raise my own chickens, but sure enjoy a mixed flock. Any advice in this area? Also, I am hoping to hatch...
I bought her at Atwoods in a bin labled "pullets". I don't know if it said Brahma as well... but I've been thinking she was a Brahma for a long time. She has lovely feathers and looks a lot like my Partridge Rocks, except her perdy feet! She might be bigger too. I have started to wonder if she...
The bag of wild bird feed, was labeled Poultry Feed. So I think what it is, is a mixed flock grower. And I am going with that unless you tell me different. =)

A bobcat got one of our chickens this morning... we caught it in the act. My husband fired and missed and the bobcat dropped "Monkey" and escaped. So...
Should I clean her and cook her up? She is not mangled. I have never done it before but my husband suggested we do it for a 'science...
Seems like it would be easier to keep track of who is who with them all looking so different! They are all unique and gorgeous! I am going Jersey Giant on the first one... but just for fun. I have no experience in this area!
